GEBEDPLAAS SAN SELF-HEL ENTERPRISE
Gebedplaas San Self Help Enterprise is a community initiative established to assist the San Community with skills and employment opportunities in the Otjombinde constituency, Omaheke region. The organization is funded by Social Security Commission’s Development Fund (SSC-DF) for the implementation of an SSC-DF employment scheme namely, “Gebedplaas San Self Help project” based on the proposal made by the Development Agency (Omaheke Regional Council).
OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of the Development Agency under the above mentioned agreement are to:
- Establish a dairy products and a welding project at Gebedsplaas and to create employment for the San community in Otjombinde;
- To ensure sustainability of the project by the end of a two-year funding period;
- Run the business along sound business principles from the onset, in order to gradually generate income that sustains the operations.
PROJECT FUNDING OPPORTUNITY
The Omaheke Regional Council hereby invites inhabitants of Omaheke region to submit economic project proposals for funding.
OBJECTIVE
To promote value addition, industrialisation, self-employment and local skills within the region; promote the use of local resources into value products, promote self-sustainability and reduce poverty.
SELECTION CRITERIA/REQUIREMENTS
- Applicant must be 18 years or older, residing in Omaheke region.
- Projects must be registered with BIPA. Viable unregistered projects will be required to do so within six months upon notification as a successful applicant.
- Applicant should submit a project proposal with a two-year cost breakdown/projection.
- Applicant must show focus on sustainability, economic viability, value addition and employment creation.
- The estimated cost should not be more than N$250,000.00.
HOW TO APPLY FOR FUNDING
Project proposals/expression of interest should be submitted to your relevant constituency office in Omaheke region for appraisal and recommendation.
